Frequently asked questions

Yes. Streaming, searching, liking tracks and making playlists is free. You only need an account to like tracks, follow and make playlists.
Nothing. Uploading, your artist page, smart links and statistics are free. Paid studio services are always separate and optional.
€0.003 for every qualifying stream, starting from your 1,501st qualifying stream in total. The first 1,500 streams are not paid. Example: 10,000 qualifying streams = (10,000 − 1,500) × €0.003 = €25.50.
A stream of at least 30 seconds, not from your own account, at most 5 per listener per track per 24 hours, and not artificial. See article 7.3 of the Artist Agreement.
Your statement for a month is final by the 10th of the next month. From a balance of €10 you can request a payout; we pay within 30 days by SEPA bank transfer.
Yes, 100%. You give RetLabel a non-exclusive licence to stream your music on RetLabel only. You can release it anywhere else, and remove it at any time.
No. Music you upload is hosted on RetLabel only. If your release is already on other platforms, add the links: we build a smart link that sends listeners there, and count every click.
In your artist portal: fill in your details, read the agreement, and sign it online with a drawn or typed signature. Or download the PDF, sign it by hand and upload the scan. RetLabel countersigns and you get the PDF by e-mail.
Any time, with 14 days notice, in your portal. Your music is removed and your remaining balance is paid out.
Send a licence request from the track page or your dancer portal. When the artist approves, you can link your video to the track and it shows on the artist page too.
No. Only promotion that reaches real listeners is allowed. Artificial streams are filtered out and not paid, and promoters who use them are removed.
Open your playlist, choose “Design & settings”, switch on Collaborative and invite friends by @handle or e-mail.
Promo tokens are how you pitch your music to the RetLabel curator network. 1 token = 1 playlist pitch, 2 tokens = 1 radio pitch. You get them with a monthly package: €9 for 10, €25 for 30, €50 for 70 or €100 for 150 tokens (21% VAT included). Tokens you do not use stay in your account.
In your studio open Grow → Pitch to curators. Choose the release and the genre, pick playlists or radio stations in the table, and send. The pitch text and image are made for you; change them or use one of your own templates. You see every reply under Grow → My pitches.
Curators have 3 days to reply. When they do not, the pitch expires and your token comes back to your account automatically.
No. Curators decide themselves; that is what makes a playlist add worth something. You do get an answer within 3 days or your token back. When a curator declines, you see the reason, so you can pick better-fitting playlists next time.
Yes, on the Promo tokens page. A new package starts from your next month. When you cancel, the package stops at the end of the month you paid for, and the tokens you have stay.
Signed RetLabel artists have a Tools section in their studio: Composer (the circle of fifths with chords for guitar, ukulele, bass, mandolin and piano) and Micup (an Android app that turns your phone into a microphone).
Yes. Open the campaign and choose “Pitch for this artist”, or go to Campaigns → RetLabel curator network. You pitch with your own promo tokens. You can also log pitches to your own contacts for free and keep their status up to date; the artist sees all pitches in their studio.
A free curator portal: artists pitch their music to you, you listen and accept or decline in one click, and you earn €0.40 for every song you add to a playlist and €0.80 for every song you play on the radio.
Your earnings are added to your wallet when you accept a pitch and the song is in your playlist (we check it on Spotify). Request a payout from €10 by IBAN bank transfer, PayPal or Remitly.
No. Only add songs you like. Declining is fine: pick a reason so the artist learns from it. Do reply within 3 days: when you do not, you earn nothing for the next pitch you accept.
Yes. Get booked by artists for shows and music videos, and get paid jobs for dance videos through music-promotion.biz. Signing up is free.
€150 per hour, VAT and engineer included. You pay 50% when you book, and the rest after your session – by the payment link we e-mail you, or on site.
Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:00 (Belgian time). The calendar shows the free hours; book 1 hour or several hours in a row, at least 2 hours ahead.
In Grimminge (Geraardsbergen), Belgium. You get the full address in your booking confirmation, with a calendar file and a reminder the day before.
Cancel for free until 48 hours before your session on your order page: we refund the deposit. Later than that, the deposit is kept. To move it, send us a message on your order page.
Your lyrics, your beat or project (on a USB stick or as a download link) and your own headphones if you like. We have the microphones, the booth and the engineer.
For mastering: your finished stereo mix (WAV, AIFF or FLAC is best). For mixing: your stems as a ZIP, or your Ableton project (File → Collect All and Save, zipped) or FL Studio project (Export → Zipped loop package). Files up to 1 GB, bigger via a WeTransfer, Google Drive or Dropbox link.
Master only or mix only €50, mix & master €75 (VAT included), paid when you order. You get your files within 5 days – the date is shown when you order.
A WAV 24-bit master, an MP3, and a master for the streaming loudness. You download them on your order page.
Yes: 1 revision is included. Ask for it on your order page and describe what to change. Extra revisions are €15.
You describe the video (style, story, mood), choose the format and length, and upload photos or videos to use and the song. We make the video with AI tools and our own editing, and deliver it on your order page.
Orders paid before 14:00 (Belgian time) on a working day are delivered the same day, before 23:00. Later orders and weekend orders are delivered the next working day.
Only when you have their permission – you confirm this when you order. Do not upload photos of people who did not agree to be in an AI video.
€75 per video (VAT included), paid when you order. 1 revision is included; an extra revision is €25.
Hosting €20 per month plus a package: Start €49, Pro €99 or Label / School €199 per month (VAT included). There is no set-up fee and no contract: you pay monthly and can stop any time.
Yes for .com, .nl, .be and .eu – we register it for you after your first payment. Other extensions (like .music or .studio) are charged at cost. Already have a domain? You keep it and point it to the new site.
Yes. Every site comes with a CMS: change texts, photos, music, events and products yourself. Every site also has an order or booking system.
Stripe tries again and you get an e-mail. When the monthly payment has not come through after 7 days, the website goes offline until it is paid – then it is back right away.
The producer portal is free. RetLabel keeps 17% of every sale (that covers the payment costs too); 83% goes to your wallet. When you withdraw, RetLabel keeps a 17% withdrawal fee. You can withdraw from €20.
Seven days after the sale the money becomes available (time for refunds and chargebacks). Then withdraw by bank, PayPal, Wise, Remitly or another way; we pay within 30 days.
Yes. You keep the copyright. RetLabel sells licences on your behalf: free, basic, premium, unlimited or exclusive. With an exclusive sale the beat leaves the shop; earlier leases stay valid.
No. You set prices excluding VAT; RetLabel adds the VAT (21%) at checkout and pays it to the tax authorities.
Yes: switch on the free licence (the tagged MP3) on a beat, or set a sample pack to €0. Downloaders need a free account and can choose to share their e-mail with you.
You stream on your own YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Kick or Mixcloud (or an audio stream). Plan the show in your portal and press Go live: your radio page, the Discover page and the feed show you live, and your followers are notified.
Enter with a qualifier video. RetLabel judges (70%) and the public (30%) score the videos; the best go into a bracket that battles live in the show. You stream on your own account; the control room mixes all streams on RetLabel. 50% of the ticket sales is the prize pool.
Open the link in your invitation: create a free account, make your dancer or crew profile, sign the Dancer Agreement online (2 minutes) and enter. The link takes you through the steps.
Open the event or the live show page. Free shows play for everyone; paid shows need a ticket that gives stream access. Tap the speaker for sound, react with emojis, chat and vote when the vote is open.
When the ticket sale has not started yet, you can reserve for free. The moment the sale opens you get an e-mail with a link to buy first. A reservation is not a ticket yet.
