What we collect
- Account data: name, e-mail address, password (encrypted), @handle, country, and optionally year of birth, gender, photo and bio.
- Listening data: which tracks you play, for how long, from which part of the site, the device type, and your country. IP addresses are only stored as a daily changing, irreversible hash.
- Messages and files you send through the Platform.
- For artists, dancers and promoters: the details in your agreement (Annex A), payout details (IBAN) and statements.
Why
- To provide the Platform: streaming, playlists, messages, portals (contract).
- To count streams and pay artists, and to fight artificial streams (contract and legitimate interest).
- To show artists aggregated statistics that never identify individual listeners (legitimate interest).
- To meet legal obligations, such as accounting and tax (legal obligation).
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We use processors for hosting (webhosting provider in the EU) and e-mail. Artists see only aggregated statistics. When you message someone, they see your name and @handle.
Retention
Account data as long as you have an account. Raw listening events for 25 months, aggregated statistics longer. Contract and payout data 7 years (legal obligation).
Your rights
You can view, correct, download (Account → Download my data) and delete your data (Account → Delete account), object to processing, and complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be). Questions: info@real-8.com.
