RetLabel distributes your music for free via DistroKid. You keep 70% of all store royalties; RetLabel keeps 30%.
What you need
- The signed Distribution Agreement (Account → Distribution Agreement). It lasts one year per release and then continues with 30 days' notice.
- A lossless master per track: WAV or FLAC, 16 or 24-bit, 44.1 kHz or higher. Drop WAV/FLAC files in the uploader: we stream an MP3 on RetLabel and keep the lossless file as the master. For an existing track use Add master in the track list.
- Artwork of at least 3000×3000 px.
- Songwriters of every track with their legal names (track → Credits → Songwriter).
- The language of the release and a release date at least 7 days ahead.
What happens next
- You submit and confirm that the release is added to the Release Schedule (Annex B) of your agreement.
- RetLabel reviews the release and uploads it to DistroKid.
- You get a notification with the UPC and, when available, a pre-save link.
- On the release date it goes live; we add the store links to your page, smart link and track menu.
Changes and takedowns: on the release page use Change in the stores or Remove from stores. Audio can never be changed after delivery; upload a new release instead.
