Micup n'est pas sur le Google Play Store. Tu l'installes directement depuis cette page, donc Android t'avertit une fois et te demande de confirmer. À ce moment, choisis Installer quand même. Les étapes ci-dessous montrent exactement où et pourquoi.

Ce que fait Micup

Micup transforme ton téléphone en micro avec effets. Tu t'entends en direct dans le haut-parleur ou ton casque quand tu parles ou chantes, et tu peux enregistrer exactement ce que tu entends.

15 voice effects

Chipmunk, Helium, Deep, Monster, Robot, Alien, Echo, Cave, Megaphone, Telephone, Drunk, Ghost, Chorus, Choir, or your own clean voice. Tap a card and you hear it straight away.

RetLabel Studios MixFX

A studio rack on top of the effect: boost, noise gate, compressor, warmth, presence, saturation, doubler, delay and reverb. Every one has its own slider from 0 to 100.

Sing along to a track

Pick any song on your phone and sing over it. Micup lines your voice up with the track, so the recording comes out in time instead of a fraction late.

Recording library

Everything you record lands in the Library tab with the effect it was made with. Play it back, rename it, share it to WhatsApp, or delete it.

Comment l'installer

Comme Micup ne vient pas du Play Store, Android demande deux autorisations : une pour autoriser l'installation depuis cette source, une pour confirmer. Les deux sont normales.

Tap the download button

Do this on the phone itself, in Chrome or whichever browser you use. The file micup.apk lands in your Downloads.

Open the downloaded file

Tap it in the download notification, or find micup.apk in the Files or Downloads app and tap it there.

Allow installing from this source

Android says something like “For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source”. Tap Settings, switch “Allow from this source” on, and press back. You only need to do this once per browser.

Choose Install anyway

Play Protect says it does not recognise the developer, with a message like “Unsafe app blocked” or “App scan recommended”. This is simply because Micup is not in the Play Store, so Google has never scanned it. Choose Install anyway, or More details and then Install anyway.

Open Micup and allow the microphone

On the first launch Micup asks for the microphone; without it the app cannot do anything. Allow notifications too, so you can see and stop the live microphone from your notification shade.

Utilise un casque si tu peux. Diffuser ton propre micro dans le haut-parleur crée un larsen, surtout avec les effets de réverbération ou le Boost élevé. Avec un casque, rien de tout ça. Sinon, garde le volume de retour bas.

Ce dont elle a besoin sur ton téléphone

Micup demande l'accès au micro, car c'est toute l'appli, et pour notifications, pour indiquer que le micro est actif quand tu es dans une autre appli. Elle tourne en arrière-plan pour que l'enregistrement ne s'arrête pas quand l'écran s'éteint.

Les enregistrements restent sur le téléphone, dans le dossier de Micup, et sont supprimés si tu désinstalles l’app. Micup n’a pas de publicité. Elle n’utilise Internet que si tu la relies à ton compte RetLabel (avec un code à 6 chiffres de la vocal booth) : tu peux alors choisir un beat du beat shop RetLabel et envoyer une prise vers la vocal booth. Rien de ce que tu enregistres ne quitte ton téléphone, sauf si tu l’envoies ou le partages toi-même, et tu peux délier à tout moment.

Conditions

Android 8.0 (Oreo) or newer, on any phone with a microphone. The download is 5.2 MB and the app takes a little more once installed. Recordings are saved as WAV, roughly 5 MB per minute.
